Kinneloa Irrigation District Local Emergency Proclamation
Date: 1/11/2025
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors issued a Proclamation of Existence of a Local Emergency effective January 7, 2025. At an emergency meeting of the Kinneloa Irrigation District Board of Directors held on January 11, 2025 a Local Emergency was proclaimed for the Kinneloa Irrigation District.
As a reminder, all areas of the District are under a mandatory evacuation order. By remaining in the area you could be charged with a misdemeanor. We understand that some residents are remaining in their homes regardless. The District’s Do Not Drink Order is still in effect. If you choose to violate the mandatory evacuation order and remain in your home please limit your use of water to essential hygienic needs. The District has not refilled its system yet and is keeping operational levels at a minimum due to the ongoing power outage and limits of our backup diesel power generating system.
If District staff observe any outdoor irrigation or washing of vehicles we will turn off your service and lock out your water meter until the Proclaimed Local Emergency has ended. There will be no warnings given, water wasting activities will be documented via photo and video and your service will be disconnected.
