Although the County of Los Angeles this afternoon reduced several areas from Evacuation Orders to Evacuation Warnings, all of the District is still under an Evacuation Order and still lawfully closed to public access. The current status of evacuation areas can be viewed on this County website - https://lacounty.gov/emergency/
Per the District Rules and Regulations, the General Manager has moved the District Conservation Alert status to Red. Color Code “Red” is defined as a Critical Water Conservation Alert, when water supplies are only available for health and safety needs. Customers are required to minimize indoor water use and curtail all outdoor water use and fix any leaks within 24 hours.
The District is working hard to refill the system to meet our customers needs. It takes approximately 5 days under emergency operating conditions to refill the system with what was used for the fire suppression effort. The system is now about 2/3 full. When the system reaches 90% operational capacity, the General Manager will reduce the conservation alert status from Red to Orange and a notice will be sent out when that alert status is changed.
